Where it all began

Every jewellery designer has a moment when their work shifts from something they make to something they feel. For me, that moment arrived in 2011, during a time that changed the way I saw life, family and the importance of the little things we often take for granted.

Before then, my early collections were bold, striking and visually distinctive, pieces people admired for their look and finish. But something was missing. The designs didn’t yet carry the depth of meaning I wanted them to hold. I knew I wanted to tell stories through jewellery, but I hadn’t yet found the stories that truly belonged to me.

In 2011, my family experienced a devastating loss. It was a moment that brought everything into sharp focus; the fragility of life, the preciousness of time, and the immeasurable value of the people we love. In the days that followed, we returned to a place that had always held meaning for us: the North Devon coastline. A place woven through generations of memories. A place where simple moments; gathering shells, walking the shore, laughing together, had always felt special.

Standing there with my family, I realised how deeply these small, everyday moments shape our lives. How they become the memories we treasure most. And how important it is to hold onto them.

That experience changed me. It changed my work. It changed the purpose behind every piece I would go on to create.

From that point forward, my jewellery became a way to honour connection, the quiet, meaningful moments shared between loved ones. I began designing keepsakes inspired by the shells I collected as a child, and soon after, silhouettes capturing the moments we cherish: walking side by side, holding hands, embracing, celebrating, remembering.

Year by year, the collection grew. Each new design reflected a moment worth holding close, not just for me, but for anyone who has ever loved, lost, hoped or cherished. It has been the greatest honour to create jewellery that carries personal meaning for others, pieces that become part of their stories just as they became part of mine.

This is where it all began: with family, with love, with loss, and with the understanding that the smallest moments are often the most important. My hope is that every piece I create helps someone celebrate the people they hold dear and the memories that make life so precious.
